Mobile Game Studios in Germany: Who Makes the Hits and Who Is Hiring
Most "game studios in Germany" lists are written by outsourcing agencies selling their own services. This one is built from data: we matched the German Google Play charts to the studios behind them and checked which of them have live openings. Install numbers are Google Play brackets (Android, worldwide, lifetime). Data as of September 2026.

Who is hiring right now
Game studios hire in waves, and many of the big names have no public openings at any given moment. On this board right now:
- Stillfront Supremacy (Hamburg): around 11 roles
- Sandbox Interactive (Berlin): around 8
- Lotum (Bad Nauheim): around 12 across two entities, including senior iOS, Android and backend roles
- InnoGames (Hamburg): around 6, with published salary ranges
- Softgames (Berlin): 5, all fully remote
- Gryphon Games, Iteration One, Awesome Prototype, Knuddels, Kolibri Games and Edkon Games: a few roles each
Typical openings are game designers (systems and economy), game and data analysts, backend engineers, user acquisition managers and CRM or live-ops roles. Pure client engineering roles (Unity, C#) are rarer than you might expect. A lot of hiring is on the monetisation and live-ops side.
What to know before applying
Most German game studios work in English, and Berlin and Hamburg studios hire internationally. Salary transparency is still rare, but InnoGames publishes ranges, for example around 55,000 to 72,000 euro for an analyst role. For free-to-play studios, being able to talk about retention, LTV and event design matters as much as your craft skills.
